British Mica is a 125 year old engineering business based in Bedford offering a complete service in the supply of most types of engineering and insulating plastics. Machining, profiling, presswork, fabricating and polishing are all carried out to a high standard.
A family owned and employee owned business. The company works with high level blue chip corporations solving their engineering challenges.
We are a growing business with new avenues of work coming forward. The candidate will work across the company and look to find the sector they most want to progress in and suite their skills.
The candidate needs to be self-motivated and flexible in their attitude to lead a small team to deliver projects on time and budget.
The company will train and help create pathways for candidates to grown in the current role and move forward as the company grows.

Overall responsibility:
Manage the factory floor to keep production on time through material handling, logistics, deliveries and keeping the factory tidy and organised.
Main Duties:
· Prepare Materials for CNC/Laminating departments
· Stock Take
· Pack and manage logistics
· Manage incoming deliveries
· Unload Lorries with forklift (training and certification available)
· Run deliveries to regular customers
· Create weekly workload plan
· Keep factory clean and tidy
· Work with an ERP system (MRPEASY)
· Work in a small team to facilitate productivity
Working Hours:
Monday – Friday 07.00 am-15.00 pm. 12.30-13.00 lunch

The Candidate
The candidate will need to be robust, structured and detail orientated with an efficient operative mindset getting things done
The role needs someone who has a keen eye for detail, who is diligent, who can follow procedures and who works to achieve detailed daily and weekly targets
The candidate needs to be willing to work as a team and support all other departments as and when required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £10- £13 per hour £21,000 – £27,000 per year (depending on experience
